Hosea Center
The past 3 weeks I have had the pleasure to serve at a Christian after school center, where kids go to learn english through the Bible. I have fallen in love with the students and kids who go every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Hosea Center is located in a small village 30 mins from where my team and I are living in Chiang Mai. 20 years ago there was not a single Christian in the village, but one man (name unknown) decided to start a Christian learning center there for kids because that was how he came to know Jesus... through hearing about the Gospel at school through his english teacher who was a missionary. A few years after this man started the center, another man named Chris heard about the mission of the center, and Chris felt the Lord was calling him to join the efforts of making God known in this small village. So since the early 2000s, Chris has been discipling students and teaching the kids of the village the Bible. Chris's story is inspiring because he hadn't always planned to be a missionary, but God clearly had better plans for him. He was a graphic designer but quite a long time ago to pursue full-time missions. He first lived in India for 2 years then Lous and now has lived in Thailand for 12+ years.
He has a wife and one young son, but his wife has experienced a lot of illnesses over the years and is currently battling breast cancer for the third time. Please please be praying for Chris's wife and that the Lord would miraculously heal her. Pray that the Lord would draw near to them and that God would mercifully renew their strength and peace in Him each day.
A huge praise is that I have been able to share my testimony with the older kids, who attend the Hosea Center. As well as, prepare and teach the kids different Bible lessons and stories with the help of my team. Also, last Saturday a senior boy gave his life to Christ for the first time!! Praise God!! I know that Jesus is rejoicing that one of His precious sons is saved and redeemed and safely in His arms. I can't stop smiling while writing this because it warms my heart that God is never stagnate, He is always moving and working in our lives. The Lord's hand is so clearly over the Hosea Center, and I am filled with so much peace when ever we go there and serve. Two weeks ago my team and I prepared a lesson on the Trinity and when we taught the students about God being three in one: Father, Son, And Holy Spirit... they hadn't learned too much about the Holy Spirit before. It was really special to be able to teach them about how amazing the Holy Spirit is and how Jesus gave the Spirit as a gift to help convict, teach, and lead us in righteousness. Also, we talked about the fruits of the Spirit and how when we accept Christ we receive the Holy Spirit and will naturally bare love, joy, peace, kindness, etc.
