Chiang Mai

Sawasdee kha (สวัสดีค่ะ)!! Means "Hello" in Thai! I AM IN THAILAND!! I can't tell you how much I love this country! It is beautiful with really kind people and amazing food. My team and I have been here for a little over 3 weeks, and God has not failed to open a lot of amazing doors with meeting new friends, sharing the Gospel with strangers, serving at an after-school Christian center, running into missionaries from other countries, helping clean up after Chiang Mai experienced devastating flooding, and so much more!!

FLOODING RELIEF EFFORTS

We got to help clean up a Christian radio station after the flooding. It was really humbling because you could see the water lines of how high it had flooded just a week before we landed in Chiang Mai. Also, we got to help package food for families hit by the flooding and our friend's mom (who lives here) distributed them out to the community. And AIA's (Athletes in Action) office was covered in a layer of mud so we were able to spend a Friday scrubbing and power washing the establishment. Lastly, my team and I got to put together Christmas pan flips that also have the Gospel in, and they will be handed out to thousands and thousands of people in Thailand! What's sad is that the organization, putting the pan flips together, had had them all done but the flood destroyed every single one, so we got to help re-put them together. Even though we were only able to help in a small way with the relief efforts, I am so thankful that God orchestrated an opportunity to help the people of Chiang Mai. It brought me so much joy to serve and help those in need.

PRAYER REQUESTS

• pray for the families effected by the flooding

• pray for the businesses effected by the flooding, because a lot of things were damaged.

• pray for more open doors to serve the Lord

• pray that me and my team would fall more and more in love with our Father each day
